Ubuntu OS
Ubuntu is a free and open-source operating system based on Debian Linux. It was developed by Canonical Ltd., founded by Mark Shuttleworth in October 2004. The goal was to create a user-friendly Linux-based operating system that was freely available to everyone.
The first version of Ubuntu, 4.10 "Warty Warthog," was released in October 2004. It included the GNOME desktop environment, Firefox web browser, and OpenOffice.org productivity suite. Ubuntu releases new versions every six months.
Ubuntu is known for its stability, security, and ease of use. It provides users with a simple and intuitive interface, along with a wide range of pre-installed applications and tools. Ubuntu also allows users to selectively install and use the software they need for their purposes.
In addition to its desktop version, Ubuntu is also widely used in server environments, cloud computing, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices. A long-term support (LTS) version of Ubuntu is released every two years, which provides extended support and maintenance for five years.
Ubuntu is provided for free and its source code is available, which allows developers to modify and develop it as needed. It has become one of the most popular Linux-based operating systems, used by individuals, businesses, and organizations around the world.
About Mark Shuttleworth
Mark Shuttleworth is a South African entrepreneur and philanthropist who founded Canonical Ltd., the company behind the development of Ubuntu operating system. Shuttleworth is also a former Debian developer and a space tourist.
Shuttleworth began his career in the technology industry in the 1990s as a software developer and founded Thawte, a company that provided digital certificates for secure online transactions. He sold Thawte to VeriSign in 1999 for $575 million.

In 2004, Shuttleworth founded Canonical Ltd. and released the first version of Ubuntu, 4.10 "Warty Warthog." Shuttleworth invested $10 million of his personal fortune to fund the development of Ubuntu and has been involved in the project ever since.
Under Shuttleworth's leadership, Ubuntu has become one of the most popular Linux-based operating systems in the world. Shuttleworth has also been a strong advocate for open-source software and has encouraged collaboration and community involvement in the development of Ubuntu.
In addition to his work with Ubuntu, Shuttleworth is also involved in philanthropic efforts through his foundation, the Shuttleworth Foundation, which aims to promote social innovation and education in Africa.
